This week`s Song of the Week is, “Heavy Rotation” by AKB48. AKB48 was founded in 2005, is an all-girl group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. AKB48 is named after Akihabara (Akiba for short) an area in Tokyo where, the group has its own theater. It is one of the most popular groups in Japan. ”Heavy Rotation” was the group`s 17th single and was released on August18, 2010. It made number one on the Oricon charts and was an exceptionally popular song at karaoke as well.
